Young Professional
of the Year Award

The "Young Professional of the Year" award honors an individual who exemplifies outstanding professional growth, community engagement, and a commitment to fostering deep roots within Franklin County.

Eligibility Criteria

This award celebrates a young professional dedicated to personal development, active participation in community initiatives, and the advancement of local networks.

  • Residency: Nominees should reside or work in Franklin County, Vermont.

  • Professional Status: Nominees must be employed in a professional capacity or actively engaged in entrepreneurial endeavors.

  • Community Involvement: Demonstrate commitment to community service and local engagement.

  • Growth Mindset: Exhibit a dedication to continuous personal and professional development.

Nominations

Nominations can be submitted by colleagues, community members, or through self-nomination. Each nomination should include:

Nominee Information:

  • Full Name

  • Contact Details (Address, Phone Number, Email)

  • Current Employer or Business Affiliation

  • Position or Title

Nominator Information (if applicable):

  • Full Name

  • Relationship to Nominee

  • Contact Details

Nomination Statement:

  • A detailed description (500-1,000 words) highlighting the nominee's achievements in:

  • (1) Professional Development: Examples of career progression, leadership roles, and contributions to their field.

  • (2) Community Engagement: Involvement in local organizations, volunteer work, and initiatives that benefit Franklin County.

  • (3) Networking Efforts: Participation in local networks, mentorship roles, and efforts to connect professionals within the community.

Selection

The selection committee will evaluate nominees based on the following:

  • Professional Excellence: Demonstrate success and leadership in their chosen field.

  • Commitment to Community: Active participation and measurable impact in community service and local initiatives.

  • Alignment with Organizational Vision: Efforts that contribute to helping young professionals establish deep roots and build prosperous lives in Franklin County.

  • Promotion of Core Missions:

    • Networking: Facilitating connections among local professionals and leaders.

    • Community Engagement: Enhancing visibility and participation in community events and volunteer opportunities.

  • Professional Development: Advancing business and leadership skills, mentoring youth, and fostering personal growth.

Timeline

  • Nomination Period Opens: March 15, 2025

  • Nomination Deadline: June 15, 2025

  • Review Period: July- August 2025

  • Award Announcement: September, coinciding with the YPFC anniversary celebration.

Additional Notes

  • Incomplete applications may not be considered.

  • All information submitted will be kept confidential and used solely for award selection purposes.

  • Three finalists will be selected and are expected to attend our anniversary celebration, where the award winner will be announced.

  • The winner will receive a one-year membership to the Young Professionals of Franklin County
